Zac Posen is the new creative director of Gap Inc.
The New York designer will now take on three functions within the company. As the US textile company announced on Monday, Posen will serve in the role of Executive Vice President and Creative Director of Gap Inc. as well as Chief Creative Officer of Old Navy. Just last year there were several personnel changes within the group: Richard Dickson was appointed CEO in July and a month later Gap parted ways Global Creative Director Len Peltier.
As the new creative director, Posen will join Gap’s leadership team and serve as Dickson’s creative partner. At Old Navy The designer is responsible for leading design, merchandising and marketing and will be involved Horacio BarbeitoPresident and CEO of Old Navy, will work with and report to him.
Posen’s appointment follows two other new additions to the company. Previously, Gap Inc. named Eric Chan as chief business and strategy officer and Amy Thompson as chief people officer. The textile company wants to strengthen its management team, revive and redefine the brand, according to the statement.
