Yvonne Coldeweijer becomes one of the figureheads of Podimo, the new giant in podcast land. She must ensure that hordes of Dutch people subscribe to the podcast app.
More and more celebrities have one: a podcast. They then chat every week for half an hour or an hour and then throw it on the internet. Until recently, the lion’s share was free to listen to via freely accessible apps such as Spotify and Google Podcasts, but the paid podcast app Podimo wants to change that.
The Juice Show
Podimo, which now costs five euros per month, started in April with quite a bit of fanfare in our country. The Danish company decided to take over the largest podcast publisher in our country: Dag en Nacht Media. A number of podcasts can now only be listened to behind the paywall of Podimo.
The most popular podcasts on Podimo currently have about 25,000 followers. In order to draw even more attention to the paid subscription service, none other than juice queen Yvonne Coldeweijer is now being brought into the house. She is going to make a weekly podcast together with the cheeky journalist Mark Koster: The Juice Show.
Good friend
Yvonne describes Mark as a ‘good friend’. He interviewed her in January for a major article in the Quote and a month later they sat side by side at the talk show table of Beau van Erven Dorens. She was invited there because of her scoops on the violent outbursts of Glennis Grace and Lil Kleine.
Like Yvonne, Mark is annoyed by the regular show media. At the end of last year, for example, he called Albert Verlinde a ‘catholic creep‘. He is also not very fond of Albert’s Shownieuws program: “Gossip dogs that bite down, but lick at C-stars from their own stable. Sad.”
Big Revelations
What is Mark and Yvonne’s podcast about? “We’re going to discuss juice, our opinions, we’re going to pick some teams,” says Yvonne. He adds: “And we’re going to make big revelations about the stars and their big, big wrongs.”
In her own words, Yvonne was already a member of Podimo. “So I was already a member myself, because I often listen to Moordcast by Dionne Slagter (true crime stories, love it). And from now on also our JUICE SHOW! Wheeww zin innnn.”
‘The real scoops’
What does this mean for Yvonne’s paid Telegram juice channel? There are now four thousand members, who all pay a tenner a month. “In the podcast we will of course go juicing about the topics that were in the news last week, or that I brought up myself,” she tells her paying members.
She continues: “Of course I keep the real SCOOPS especially and only for you, the Spy Army. ? So the podcast becomes more of a kind of deepening in the form of a conversation: why do the celebrities do what they do? What do we think?”
Podimo
The Juice Podcast can be listened to weekly from this afternoon at 4 pm on Podimo. Some people are already excited about it. For example, WNL journalist Elif Isitman says: “This is already a pleasure.”
