Talpa tells Yvonne Coldeweijer to record a juice-like video every week, but she keeps completely silent about it. She clearly does it happily ever after. “It looks perfunctory.”
In the coming years, Yvonne Coldeweijer will be able to fill her pockets while sleeping at Talpa. She was actually going to make the daily TV show De Juice on Net5, but that won’t happen due to rumblings behind the scenes and so she is now quite stuck. She is not allowed to use her own juice channel and Talpa now has to make a juice video every week.
Brave videos
Yvonne makes such a video every week under the name Colder Cast and it can be seen on KIJK, but that goes by absolutely everyone. First of all, because she doesn’t pay any attention to it on her social media, but also because those videos are really boring. There is no strong opinion; they are all open doors.
It is very clear that Yvonne is simply serving out her Talpa contract, says TV critic Alex Mazereeuw de Volkskrant. “Somewhere in the depths of the Dutch media landscape, someone has been held hostage for weeks, but no one sees it.”
Perfunctory
You can see that Yvonne is just whole sec keeps the agreements with Talpa, but that she is absolutely not doing her best, according to Alex. “It is certainly fascinating, especially because it seems as if we are watching a titanic struggle that continues cheerfully even after the trial.”
He continues: “You see Coldeweijer thinking: OK, I have to make exclusive content for you? Then I will do everything I can to put the most perfunctory videos online, but with just enough cheerful energy and half-sharp opinions to not go unnoticed.”
Sardonic
Alex has a strong feeling that no one really watches those Colder Cast videos. “But at least I saw a Coldeweijer who is serving out her hostage situation with sardonic pleasure.”
