According to entrepreneur John van Zweden, known as the wallpaper king of The Hague, it is a travesty that Yvonne Coldeweijer has ended up in second place in a list of influential influencers. He shares Kees Tol’s pithy opinion that she really doesn’t belong in that overview at all.

Gossip thing

John brings it up unsolicited in the HLF8 from last night. “I find that one girl who is also on that list… That gossip thing…”

Presenter Leonie ter Braak: “Yvonne Coldeweijer?”

Table guest Carolien Borgers immediately corrects John: “That is now a woman.”

Fellow guest Justine Marcella: “And also from The Hague, right?”

John: “I don’t know where she comes from, but if she’s from The Hague, then I’m deeply ashamed of that thing, because I really don’t like it at all.”

“Do something with your life!”

Yvonne was born in Tilburg and grew up in Kaatsheuvel. Carolien: “I don’t actually know if she is from The Hague.”

Justine: “I think so. She talks a bit like that.”

Carolien: “No, I don’t think she is.”

John: “I wanted to keep it that way too.”

Leonie: “She is high on the list.”

John: “Yes, but I’ve looked into it a bit and if that’s how you have to make your money – I’m just saying that very honestly – then do something else with your life. That’s just one thing that destroys other relationships and makes her money off of it.”

Leonie defends Yvonne

Carolien: “Is it very different for you from the magazines that used to have that function?”

John: “Listen, I don’t delve into those magazines and stuff at all. I only hear things that I sometimes hear and when I hear how she destroys other people, I think:

Leonie: “Yes, but of course she – and I’m not going to defend Yvonne Coldeweijer here – also set things in motion, for example when it comes to the Voice scandal, right?”

“I wouldn’t be proud!”

John: “Are you proud if you can bring that forward? I wouldn’t be so proud of it.”

Frits Barend: “Well, that was a scandal.”

Leonie: “Well, denounce things… From a scandal like The Voice it is important that it has come to the surface.”

John: “Yes, yes, yes, I agree with you, but on the other hand it is true: we couldn’t even use the word ‘cross-border behavior’ two years ago and now everything is suddenly cross-border.”
