Yvon Jaspers continues to refuse interviews: ‘Costs 300 thousand viewers’

Yvon Jaspers continues to haughtily refuse to give interviews, even about her own new TV programs. And that costs her an incredible number of viewers, says Rob Goossens. “300 thousand.”

How lucky is Yvon Jaspers that she was ever put on the presentation of Boerzoekt Vrouw, because without farmers that lady from Boxtel scores really poorly. Some program of hers started last week about cooking with people who have little money and so no one wanted to watch it. And that on the big NPO 1.

Murdered girl

One major problem is that this new program, Kook Van Jou, has simply not been brought to the attention of anyone at all. Why not? Yvon no longer wants to give interviews because, like Linda de Mol – the two were spotted having lunch somewhere last year – she no longer trusts the media. Read: she just can’t deal with the media.

Yvon has been under fire for a while because of all kinds of strange scandals in addition to her tax-paid job at the NPO and started to bleat really horribly in Jeroen Pauw’s talk show. The latter blew up in her face, because there were parents of a murdered girl on the other side of the table.

No interviews

Anyway: the pissed off Yvon doesn’t want to give any more interviews, so she doesn’t even want to do PR work for her employer KRO-NCRV. And so many people miss the fact that she has a new program at all. “I thought it was a great program. It did not score very well,” notes RTL Boulevard face Rob Goosens.

Own fault, big bump, according to Rob. “The stupid thing is: Yvon Jaspers doesn’t promote her programs. I bet it really made a difference of 200 or 300 thousand viewers, because when you promote, especially with a new program…”

488 thousand

And with the measly 488 thousand viewers that Yvon scored, those 300 thousand missed viewers would have been quite welcome. So it’s unwise for her to leave that PR work behind, Rob thinks. Colleague Daan Nieber then: “But that’s what you’re doing now, so thank you.”

Um, where does that come from? Well, Daan helped devise Yvon’s program. Rob: “Yes, so maybe next week… You’re welcome!”

Sour apple

Media critic Victor Vlam previously explained that Yvon Jaspers and Linda de Mol have the same problem. “You also have to make people a little enthusiastic. Well, you can do that, for example, by appearing in a talk show. (…) That is not possible. And that is also something Linda de Mol can no longer do.”

Stupid, Victor thinks. “There is value in doing promotion. The fact that Yvon and Linda can no longer do that indicates that their market value as presenters has really fallen significantly.”
