Ypres takes these measures to save energy

The city had already converted some of its street lighting to LED light, but it will take a few more years to complete. That is why the city is extinguishing the public lighting according to the city’s scattering plan: where the lights are normally sprinkled again in winter, the lights remain on, elsewhere the street lights go out between midnight and five.

Colder bathing water

The city is also looking at the measures it can take in the sports halls and the swimming pool. The bathing water will probably be a few degrees cooler in the future and the heating in the sports halls will also be lower. The heating in other public buildings is also reduced by a degree, to 19 degrees, as the Flemish government proposes.
