Youth teams from Manchester City and PSG come to Amsterdam for the Future Cup

The under-17 teams of Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain, among others, are participating in the upcoming edition of the Future Cup, the youth tournament that Ajax organizes at the end of March.

City, PSG and Ajax are three of the eight teams participating in the cup tournament, which is organized every year at Easter. The Danish Nordsjaelland, the winner of the previous edition, is also participating. The other clubs at the tournament are Sporting Lisbon, FK Partizan, Anderlecht, and Club Athlético Paranaense.

It is the first time that City participates in the youth tournament at De Toekomst. PSG already made its debut last year. Just like Nordsjaelland, which would beat Ajax 3-0 in the final.

The first edition was organized in 2010 and won by Ajax, which is the record holder with five titles. In addition to Ajax, Anderlecht has also been present every time so far. The Belgians won the trophy three times.

The Future Cup has now built up a reputation as a stage where future stars can be seen up close. For example, players such as Davy Klaassen, Matthijs de Ligt, Ryan Gravenberch and Abdelhak Nouri came into action on behalf of Ajax.
