Youssoufa Moukoko is said to be planning a summer farewell to BVB

Youssoufa Moukoko reportedly wants to turn his back on Borussia Dortmund after the end of the season. It is still unclear whether the attacker only wants to leave BVB on loan or even completely.

Will Borussia Dortmund and Youssoufa Moukoko go their separate ways in the summer? Well possible, says “Bild” anyway. Because according to information from the tabloid, the striker, once known as a child prodigy, is planning to say goodbye in the summer.

While those responsible for BVB would like to keep the 17-year-old, Moukoko himself is dissatisfied with his situation at the district club.

The reason: lack of playing time under coach Marco Rose. Moukoko has only 168 minutes under his belt this season in the Bundesliga, spread over eleven mostly shorter appearances (one goal, one assist). Therefore, the youngster sees his further development at risk and may be looking elsewhere for more playing time and a regular place. Because at BVB, the bosses cannot offer him these two demands at the moment.

If Moukoko cannot be persuaded to stay, according to “Bild” it is conceivable that Borussia will extend him and then loan him out. The attacker’s contract is currently only dated until the summer of 2023. The report speculates that if promoted, Moukoko could return to FC St. Pauli, in whose youth he was trained before moving to BVB (mid-2016).

It is still open whether Moukoko wants to stay with the black and yellow at all or even dare a completely new adventure. His advisor Patrick Williams recently said: “It is not a matter of course that Youssoufa extends at BVB.” According to the report, the only thing that is clear is that the 17-year-old wants to continue playing in the Bundesliga. His agent also spoke of inquiries from England and Spain.

Moukoko is currently not in action, he is suffering from the consequences of a torn muscle fiber in his thigh. Not his first injury this season. The youngster was out in October with a muscle injury and in November with a torn muscle fiber and an eye infection.
