Youri Mulder doubted strongly whether he wanted to be a weekly guest of Hélène Hendriks in the talk show De Oranjezomer. Actually, he didn’t want to come. “And the next day you call and say: ‘Yes!’”
After Özcan Akyol, Rutger Castricum and Fidan Ekiz, it is Youri Mulder’s turn this week to be the sidekick of Hélène Hendriks in the summer talk show De Oranjezomer. Initially, the football analyst was not at all enthusiastic about joining the presenter, but he still tacked.

Hélène confronted Youri about it last night during the broadcast on SBS 6. “Are you a fickle type, really? We called you to join us and you immediately said: ‘No!’ And a day later you call: ‘Yes!’”
Youri then: “Well, I didn’t immediately say no, but I did say yes pretty quickly. Well, you have to think about it for a while, don’t you?”
Hélène: “What was your consideration then?”
Modest
Youri replies that he doubted whether he wanted to be the opinion maker for a whole week. “Well, it’s also a bit of modesty. I am a football analyst. I am not one to talk about Israel, which Frits is going to talk about later. But on the other hand: I do follow the news and stuff.”
Hélène: “But that’s why you’re here! To talk about everything!”
Youri: “Yes, I will try that, Hélène.”
Right place
Raymond Mens thinks Youri can handle it just fine. “The question is: do you follow the news and do you have an opinion? If so, then you are in the right place.”
Youri: “Yes, but more people have an opinion and there are more people who follow the news, so in that regard…”
Hélène: “A Mulder and a Barend at the table, that is of course nostalgia.”
She refers to the fact that table guest Frits Barend has made talk shows for years with Youri’s father Jan Mulder. Frits: “It has to go well and it has to end in a fight.”
John almost back
Youri is sitting at the table in De Oranjezomer where Johan Derksen normally sits at Today Inside. How does he look at Johan? “Please, because Johan says what he has on his mind and there are not many in the Netherlands, so I like to look at that.”
It is unclear who will be of service to Johan Derksen in De Oranjezomer next week, but Rutger Castricum will return to that place in the final week.
