Your home: Pirjo Nuotio on his parents’ teachings: “I weigh myself every day”

Long-time 71-year-old news anchor Pirjo Nuotio talks about his retirement days’ exercise and food habits in Kotiliesi terveys magazine.

Nuotio says that he is a versatile exerciser, which you can also learn from the internet. The daily form of exercise varies, and Nuotio chooses the sport according to the conditions of the friends who go.

– I also make quarter-length jumpers at home, for which I look at the pattern online. I exercise every day, but I don’t do anything very regularly, Nuotio ketoo in an interview.

In addition to jumping, Nuotio says that he enjoys golf, padel, skiing, skating and couple dancing.

Body care and exercise have become part of everyday life, even if it doesn’t always taste good. Exercise habits are learned at a young age.

“I hardly ever get hungry”

Nuotio opens up in an interview that he was not allowed to gain weight in his childhood family. The operating model has remained unchanged throughout life. Nuotio says that he always weighed around 53 kilos. The weight had to be reached within three weeks also after giving birth. The daily step on the scale, learned from the parents, still continues.

– Both mother and father weighed themselves every morning and evening, and so do I, Nuotio says in an interview.

– The attitude has gone to my head too.

The former news anchor, who enjoys good food, says that he and his partner especially like fish. In addition, he says that he is a good cook. Nuotio can’t find a sugar tooth on his own, and good sparkling or red wine replaces the treat.

– I do like good food, but I hardly ever get hungry. I eat with Reijo’s friend a bit out of habit, says Nuotio.
