Youp van ‘t Hek lashes out pretty hard at his cabaret colleague Dolf Jansen. He has watched his presentation of The Roast of Famke Louise and is in shock. “This is very sad.”

It seems that Famke Louise has single-handedly ensured that the annual Comedy Central show The Roast is never coming back. Not only because of the low viewing figures, but also because the content of the program has been completely screwed up. It will be very difficult to get A stars for this.

School night

It has surprised many people, including Angela de Jong, for example, that Dolf Jansen and Joke Bruijs contributed to this. In fact: Dolf was the presenter of the whole event, the ‘Roastmaster’.

His cabaret colleague Youp van ‘t Hek has looked at it and is perplexed. He sees Dolf and the other ‘roasters’ as a ‘bunch of second-hand cutting torches’. “This is the world of Boulevard and Shownieuws. Do I feel too good for that? For years. But now I did look. Out of a sullen kind of curiosity,” he says in the VARA guide.

Shit funny

And what did Youp see? “A school night. But not one in a gymnasium. Artists from the kitchen cabinet division made fun of the looks of the others. And about the age of Joke Bruijs.”

Dolf’s program was really bad, Youp concludes. “What worries me the most? That the participants themselves had such a great time. Some shrieked with delight. (…) It was a sad colorful evening and nothing more than that. What I expected? I don’t know, but no bumbling like this.”
