It eludes almost everyone: the new talent show on NPO 3 in which comedy talent is sought. The viewing figures of Ik Ga Stuk are so bad that they are almost negative. Youp van ‘t Hek, one of the biggest comedians in our country, is not surprised by this. He thinks it’s a really bad program.

I’m going through mangle

It bothers Youp anyway that jury members in these kinds of talent shows themselves hardly belong to the top. “But they do play ‘expert’. Their look, their tone, their often not too mild judgment,” he says in the VARAguide.

Ik Ga Stuk takes it all to the next level, according to Youp. “This kind of talent show television has been worthy of a cabaret parody for years. A very hard reckoning that makes the genre even more ridiculous than it already is. And finally it worked! At BNNVARA I saw an episode of Ik Ga Stuk. Perfect satire.”

Soundos knockout

Soundos El Ahmadi and her fellow jury members Thomas van Luyn and Jörgen Tjon a Fong (director of theater De Kleine Komedie) form ‘a so-called professional jury’, according to Youp. “In this case, it consists of a noisy lady at whom, except herself, no one has ever laughed.”

Oops, a decent settlement with Soundos. And how does he see the other two? “A gentle gentleman who has not been on stage for two centuries and an Amsterdam theater director, who is director for ten seconds and is still in his probationary period.”

And what about Stefano?

What about Stefano Keizer, the presenter of the program? Also worthless, according to Youp. He supposedly speaks from experience. But the good man has been seen more on TV than in the theater. Sometimes he waved a stick at Maestro and took a blurry, comically intended photo at Humberto.”

“And the candidates? Gasping goldfish on dry land from which barely a comic syllable comes out.”
