Young tennis player Loïc Carlier from Bredene big winner first edition Young Lions

Loïc Carlier developed a digital coach with which young people can also train at home when they are not at the club. In addition to a trophy, the tennis player from Ostend Tennis Club received a check for 4,000 euros. A jury of five experts, including sports anchor Stijn Vlaeminck and Griet Cappelle from innovation agency Tomorrowland, elected the laureates Friday evening during a closing event in Brussels.

Liese Schroven of the Vilvoordse Athletics Club won a prize for the project that most strongly promotes club culture. She devised ‘SporTaal’, a lesson package for trainers to integrate athletes who speak foreign languages ​​into a club. Cyclists Jonas Vandeputte and Bjarne Vandenbroucke received recognition for the project with the best social theme.

Their project ‘From cub to official’ aims to tackle the dire shortage of officials in amateur cycling. Finally, Floriaan Van den Brande from sailing club VVW Galgenweel in Antwerp was also recognized as the Young Lion with the most perseverance, an award for the young sports entrepreneur who showed the most resilience in his project. Floriaan started a project that brings sailors together to share a boat.
