Young PSV hurts fellow townsman FC Eindhoven, spectacle at Helmond Sport

FC Eindhoven has to put a stop to the battle for direct promotion. At home, it went down 1-3 on Friday evening against Jong PSV. Helmond Sport lost 5-3 to Roda JC in a goal-rich game, while TOP Oss took the win in injury time to visit De Graafschap (1-2).

FC Eindhoven-Young PSV 1-3
FC Eindhoven hopes to no longer play against Jong PSV next season, but against the first team of the Eindhoven team. Rob Penders’ team started as number three of the Kitchen Champion Division in round 35, four points behind number two FC Volendam. That team will only be in action on Saturday, but the gap has not narrowed.

FC Eindhoven had a lot of opportunities, but couldn’t score at home. Young PSV did, three times in ten minutes. With a nice swipe, Johan Bakayoko opened the score twenty minutes before time: 0-1. Five minutes later, the eighteen-year-old talent shot again from the edge of the penalty area. Another five minutes later Bakayoko was the principal, from his cross Jenson Seel headed in the 0-3. Joey Sleegers scored another goal.

Due to the defeat, FC Eindhoven remains third on 64 points, with four points less than FC Volendam. FC Emmen secured promotion on Friday, which means that one more team can promote directly. The Volendam team will play their 35th game on Saturday, which means they can do very good business. FC Eindhoven seems to have to focus on the play-offs.

De Graafschap TOP Oss 1-2
A special match for Peter Bijvelds. He worked for eight years as general and technical director at TOP Oss, and on 1 April he started working for De Graafschap. The technical manager of De Superboeren saw that his old employer was having a very difficult time at De Vijverberg, but took the lead against the odds. Joshua Sanches headed the ball against the ropes from a very nice assist from Margaritha.

The team of coach Bob Peeters could not enjoy the lead for long. Sam Hendriks scored a fine cross from Danny Verbeek. The game was no different for the rest of the game. De Graafschap was looking for goals, TOP Oss was under heavy pressure. But it didn’t budge. On the contrary, in the stoppage time of the game, the Ossenians even took the win. Substitute Dean Guezen gave his team three points.

Roda JC Helmond Sport 5-3
Three more games and then Helmond Sport can put a big line under this season. The last player in the Kitchen Champion Division is already busy off the field with the next football season, five youth players were given a contract and two newcomers have already been recruited with Martijn Kaars (FC Volendam) and Bram van Vlerken (Almere City).

But it’s not that this season is going out like a candle. On Friday evening there was a spectacle in Kerkrade. It was completely overrun in the opening phase. Within half an hour it was already 3-0, via goals from Xian Emmers and Dylan Vente (2x). A few minutes after the third goal, Jarno Lion made it 3-1. Within ten minutes after the break, Thomas Beekman and Gaetan Bosiers made it 3-3.

A fantastic comeback for Helmond Sport, but in the end it didn’t work out. Patrick Pflucke managed to give Roda JC the lead again twenty minutes before the end. Emmers also made the 5-3 shortly before the end.

NAC Breda will play an away game against Almere City on Saturday evening at 9 p.m., FC Den Bosch will come into action on Monday at 8 p.m. to visit Jong FC Utrecht.
