Jong PSV was unable to surprise against title candidate Heracles on Monday evening. The team from Almelo won the competition match in the Kitchen Champion Division 0-3 at De Herdgang in Eindhoven.
Although Jong PSV did not play badly and had almost as much possession of the ball, Adil Ramzi’s team did not succeed in becoming effective. At halftime, the team from Eindhoven faced a 0-1 deficit after a goal by Lucas Schoofs.
All hopes of tying the score were dashed within the hour. Midfielders Ouahim and Hansson managed to extend the lead for Heracles. Young PSV could do little in return. Even a penalty kick in stoppage time was not used. Goalkeeper Michael Brouwer saved Dante Sealy’s penalty in the last minute.
The result keeps Heracles in the top of the ranking, together with PEC Zwolle. Young PSV remains what it was after the defeat: a modest mid-level engine.
