The EM third from Berlin 2018 managed 1.90 m in the Olympic Stadium and was sixth this time. Jaroslava Mahuchich from Ukraine (1.95 m) secured gold in front of Marija Vukovic from Montenegro (1.95 m).

Bronze went to 17-year-old Serbian Angelina Topic (1.93 m), daughter of former European champion Dragutin Topic.

It was the first major outdoor title for Vice World Champion Mahutschich. After the triple jumper Maryna Bech-Romantschuk, the Olympic bronze medalist won the second gold for Ukraine at this European Championship in Athletics.

Olympic champion and defending champion Marija Lasizkene from Russia was not at the start because of the attack on Ukraine. Bianca Stichling was eliminated in the qualification. In the men’s race, local hero Tobias Potye surprisingly won silver.
