On the van Ruysdaelweg in Groesbeek there was a disturbance on Friday evening at and in front of a house in Groesbeek. During the fight, a man was injured by a blow to his head with an unknown object. The victim suffered a serious head injury and was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Nijmegen.
According to the police, the conflict started earlier in the evening at the Spoorlaan, also in Groesbeek. A 25-year-old man from Groesbeek was allegedly assaulted and also injured.
The police received a report of the conflict at the van Ruysdaelweg around 8.30pm. The police were on site with two patrol cars to separate the fighting young people there. The resident of the house was also arrested for the previous assault on Spoorlaan.
The fight sparked a lot of interest from the neighborhood. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of both the fights.
