Last November, two men out of the blue assaulted a young man at the train station in Breda. The victim was smoking when he was suddenly attacked. After punches and kicks were thrown at the victim, the duo ran away. They made off with the victim’s AirPods and glasses. It is important that the glasses are returned, because the owner has poor vision.
Bureau Brabant showed images of the abuse on Monday evening. In the investigation program, suspects are asked to report. They are still depicted unrecognizably. If they do not contact the police within two weeks, the images will be shown unedited so that the perpetrators are clearly recognizable. The police suspect that the perpetrators are minors.
To smoke unsuspectingly
It is around three o’clock that Saturday afternoon, November 11, 2023, when the victim is approached at the station in Breda. He is smoking and at that moment he does not know what hangs over his head. Two passers-by initially don’t seem to pay attention to him, but then they ask the young man for a cigarette. After refusing to respond, he is called ‘gay’, among other things.
That’s just the beginning of several miserable minutes the victim has to endure. Images clearly show how he was suddenly hit and kicked by one of the two attackers. Within no time, the other perpetrator also asserts himself: he also throws punches, after which the victim falls to the ground and is even then tackled while lying down. People walk by, but except for a few, no one intervenes in the brawl.
Suddenly the two fighters stop and run away towards the center, leaving their victim devastated and robbed.
