Young man (21) died after an accident at work

This happened on a construction site between Bruggesteenweg and Liebeekstraat, on the border between Roeselare and Gits.

The victim was found with a serious head injury in the construction pit where drainage pipes were placed. The circumstances of the accident are still unclear. The victim was taken to hospital in extremely critical condition. Shortly afterwards he died of his injuries in AZ Delta in Rumbeke.

Police arrived on the scene shortly after the accident and fenced the area. The investigation is in the hands of the labor inspectorate.
