Young IS supporter wanted to behead people and buy weapons

A 16-year-old boy from Eindhoven who has been detained for preparing terrorist attacks also had plans for beheadings and he wanted to buy weapons. The IS sympathizer wanted to participate in jihad, the armed struggle against enemies of Islam.

This became clear on Thursday during the first pro forma session in Rotterdam against the Eindhoven resident. The case took place behind closed doors because he is a minor. The boy was arrested in early May and will remain in jail until at least August 24, the judge ruled. Then the next session.

The Special Interventions Service (DSI) was used for his arrest at his home. This division of the National Police is called in to apprehend bad guys or when there is a threat of a terrorist attack.

Months of consultation
The boy from Eindhoven is said to have spoken with other suspects since December last year about the deadly terrorist acts he had in mind. This was done, among other things, through social media.

There was talk of arson and committing attacks. It was also about the weapons, explosives and fireworks that were needed for this. The Eindhoven resident and the other men who have been detained for months for this are said to be targeting nightclubs and police stations in Belgium, among others. It is not clear why they chose precisely those targets.

The lawyer of the Eindhoven resident does not want to respond to the lawsuit.
