The 24-year-old A.Ö. from Breda has to serve four years in prison because he put three young girls (13, 14 and 15) to work as sex workers. The court in Breda ruled this on Friday. Together with his then 15-year-old nephew, his girlfriend and another 16-year-old friend, Ö. came up with the plan in 2020 to make money with prostitution.
The three minor perpetrators were sentenced to suspended prison sentences and community service under juvenile criminal law.
Main suspect A.Ö. denied during the hearing in October that he knew the girls were minors and also said that he had not forced them. After three years of denial, he decided to tell the court that he had lured them into prostitution with sweet talk. And the girls, who were sometimes in love with him, fell for it. And he was very sorry, he expressed throughout the hearing.
Ö was the arranger, his nephew, then 15, and a friend, then 16, arranged three girls. His nephew’s girlfriend (then 15) was tasked with putting the girls at ease.

The two cousins played the biggest role in sexually exploiting the girls. The court finds it very wrong that they have seriously damaged the lives of the girls through their selfish actions. They are still troubled by what happened to them almost three and a half years ago.
One girl was in an institution, another has a history of domestic violence. “And you went one step further,” the judge told the main suspect during the hearing.
Ö’s company. and his young companions ultimately only operated for eleven days. One of the girls had fled from an institution and was wanted.
Four customers also had to appear in court for having sex with the 13-year-old girl. One of them was acquitted because there was no evidence that he had actually had sex. The other suspects received the following sentences:
- 21-year-old suspect at the time (eldest cousin): 4 years in prison.
- 15-year-old suspect at the time (youngest cousin): juvenile detention of 94 days, of which 90 are conditional, community service of 200 hours.
- 15-year-old suspect at the time (then girlfriend of the youngest cousin): juvenile detention of 34 days, of which 30 are conditional, 90 hours of community service.
- 16-year-old suspect at the time (friend of the youngest cousin): juvenile detention of 17 days, of which 14 were conditional, 60 hours of community service.
- client 1: 150 days in prison, of which 149 are conditional, community service 240 hours.
- client 2: 150 days in prison, of which 149 are conditional, community service 240 hours.
- client 3: 180 days in prison, of which 179 are conditional, community service 240 hours.
