The McDonald’s branch on Floresstraat in Zwolle-Noord was startled by a series of shots on March 30. While the approximately one hundred guests ran outside in panic, the brothers Hüseyin (62) and Ali Torunlar (57) from Zwolle succumbed to their injuries on the spot. There were many children in the restaurant who had just returned from a school football tournament a little further away.

Veysel . from Rozendaal is suspected of the double murder. He reported to the police station in Deventer the same evening and made a statement about his involvement. A spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service announced a few days later that he assumed that Ü. the shooter is the one who killed Ali and Hüseyin.

The man was brought before the council chamber of the court in Zwolle today. The three judges are in custody of Ü. extended by ninety days. The council chamber judges that there are ‘sufficient reasons to detain the suspect longer’: ‘The man is suspected of a serious offense and the legal order is shocked. The investigation by the police and the Public Prosecution Service is also still in full swing.’

Limits

Because the man is still in restrictions, justice does not release more than two weeks later than that this is still the assumption. The restrictions mean that Ü. should only have contact with his lawyer. As a result, relatives of the young entrepreneur are still full of questions.
