Young family in shock after shooting: ‘They have the wrong house’

In the house on Achelstraat in Eindhoven that was shot at on Monday night, a family with two small children was sleeping when the shots were fired. “They got the wrong house. There were four of us at home,” the resident told our reporter on Tuesday morning. On his arm he has a child just under a year old. “We also have one of seven,” he says.

Furthermore, the man does not really want to say anything about what happened. All he says is that he and his family were not injured. And that they haven’t slept since the shooting around a quarter past one.

The young family seems to find a lot of support from neighbours. A local resident says he heard ‘plop plop plop’. She thought it was fireworks. Local residents call the affected family ‘a normal family’.

Several shots were fired during the shooting. There are at least four bullet holes in the window at the front of the house. These are still visible on Tuesday morning around nine o’clock. The window is not boarded up. The police are no longer investigating the house at that time.
