Young cyclists escaped death, driver still on the run

More than five months after a reckless motorist hit a group of young people in Eindhoven, one of the victims has still not fully recovered. Meanwhile, the driver of the car that ran a red light is still on the run. In Bureau Brabant, the police is paying attention to the case.

“All I remember is that I woke up at 9 am in the hospital with a head injury, collapsed lung, broken rib and a bruise in my ankle,” the victim said in the broadcast. “Because of the injuries, I couldn’t go to school well for the first two months and not play sports well. Now, four months later, I still can’t play football and run well.”

Great havoc
He and his friends literally escaped death on the night of May 28-29. They crossed the road at the intersection of Boschdijk and Kronehoefstraat and were hit by a car. The result was great havoc. One of the cyclists flew through the air and one of the bicycles completely broke in half.

The driver continued to drive after the collision. It turns out that he ran a red light at 100 km per hour. The car was also damaged in the process and the police have been able to conclude from the lost parts that it is a light-colored Renault Megane.

Call
The police are looking for people who recognize the car and are appealing to garages in and around Eindhoven, who may have repaired it, to report.
