This is what the police spokesperson told NH. Around five past seven, something went wrong at the Dr. Wijtemalaan in Westwoud. The boy on the bicycle was seriously injured.
The emergency services, including an air ambulance, arrived quickly on the scene. The boy was rushed to hospital. It is not yet clear exactly how the accident could have happened. The driver of the car has been arrested. “But that is routine,” the spokesperson explains. “He’ll have to blow and stuff like that. That’s all done at the station.”
As the investigation is still ongoing, the road is currently closed.
