It was not a great match for Young Ajax, but at De Toekomst the team from Amsterdam won 2-1 against FC Den Bosch. Young AZ did a lot less well. On a visit to the last FC Dordrecht, Maarten Martens’ team lost 0-2.
The game in Amsterdam started lively with chances for both teams. Goalkeeper Jay Gorter prevented FC Den Bosch from scoring after two minutes with an excellent save. The home side also had plenty of opportunities. Christian Rasmussen and Naci Ünüvar were dangerous for the Bossche goal.

Gradually the team of coach John Heitinga gained more and more ascendancy and expressed that difference on the scoreboard after half an hour of play. It was center striker Rasmussen who shot in a cross from the right.

equalizer
After the tea break it remained an attractive match. Certainly thanks to substitute Sontje Hansen. The attacker had several great opportunities just after the break, but he was unable to score. The visitors did. It was Sebastiaan van Bakel who equalized after a great individual action.
Martha
Still, John Heitinga’s team managed to keep the points in-house. It was the substitutes who made the difference. From the left, Jaydon Banel passed well and then Ar’Jany Martha headed the ball neatly against the ropes. And it stayed with that 2-1.
Young Ajax therefore remained unbeaten for the thirteenth time in a row and that is a record for the team from Amsterdam. With this win over FC Den Bosch, Heitinga’s talents are now in third place. The difference with leader FC Volendam is six points.
Line-up Young Ajax: Gorter; Van Gelderen, Llansana, Musampa, Baas (Salah-Eddine/75); Warmerdam, Hlynsson (Martha/61), Fitz-Jim (Yah/78); Van Axel Dongen (Hansen/46), Rasmussen, Ünüvar (Banel/82).
Drama for Young AZ
The other promising team from North Holland is doing a lot less well. For the twelfth time in a row, Jong AZ did not win. The last win was on October 1 of the previous year. Then FC Dordrecht was also the opponent. But this time visiting the Schapenkoppen, Maarten Martens’ team had a hard time. After half an hour of play, the home team took the lead via Anouar El Azzouzi.

Another disappointing evening for the Alkmaar talents. And to think that Jong AZ was the surprising leader at the beginning of the competition. Jong AZ is currently fifteenth in the first division.
