Young Ajax drew 2-2 against FC Eindhoven in the last match of the calendar year. The second half in particular was very enjoyable for the neutral spectator with opportunities on both sides.
The team from Amsterdam took the lead after just four minutes of play through a goal by Raphaël Sarfo. He shot in diagonally. FC Eindhoven quickly did something back and leveled with a goal from Dyon Dorenbosch. After that there was little to do in the first half.
Against the relationship
The home team started the second half well. Thanks to a few excellent saves from Jong Ajax goalkeeper Tom de Graaff, the score remained 1-1. Young Ajax held firm and took the lead. After FC Eindhoven’s clumsy loss of ball, Anass Salah-Edinne was able to dribble into the box, then handed the ball on a silver platter and Gabriël Misehouy was able to shoot in the 2-1 from close range.
The home team remained dangerous and the equalizer was in the air. Former Telstar player Ozan Kukcu beautifully shot the 2-2 against the ropes. Both teams became much more dangerous in the second half. Jong Ajax substitute Yoram Boerhout came close to scoring twice, but both teams had to settle for a draw.
After the division of points in De Vliert, Young Ajax remains fifteenth in the first division with 22 points from 20 games. On January 19, coach Dave Vos’ team will resume the competition with the away match against leader Willem II.
