Young Ajax lost at TOP Oss; Young AZ is stuck at a draw in Den Bosch

Young Ajax lost to the Brabant team at TOP Oss, 2-1. Arthur Allemeersch scored both Oss goals before half-time. In the second half, Julian Rijkhoff scored the tying goal, but it didn’t go any further. Jong AZ was stuck at 0-0 when visiting FC Den Bosch.

The most important question before Jong Ajax’s kick-off was: will Julian Rijkhoff be back in the starting line-up? The Purmerend proved his worth against MVV on Monday with two goals and made his debut in the first team on Thursday. Rijkhoff was in the starting line-up and saw TOP Oss score the opening goal.

The ball fell at the feet of Arthur Allemeersch and he scored devastatingly: 1-0. Young Ajax still provided some danger, but it became 2-0 just before half time. It was Allemeersch’s second from a header. As a result, the Amsterdam youngsters started looking for the clothier with a sour feeling.

That sour feeling could quickly be exchanged for a smile in the second half. Rijkhoff had not shown anything yet, but he headed a cross from Nassef Chourak into the goal: 2-1. The declarant then had the equalizer on his shoe. However, he pushed Raphaël Sarfo’s cross wide of the goal from close range.

Young Ajax pressed on in Oss in the final phase, but to no avail. Due to the defeat, the youngsters are in fifteenth place in the first division with 30 points. The next match is at Sportpark de Toekomst against Telstar.

Jong AZ was unable to beat FC Den Bosch. The score remained 0-0 in De Vliert Stadium.

Initially, the people of Den Bosch had the initiative in the match and that led to a great opportunity for Vieri Kotzebue. However, his effort went wide. Moments later it was Kacper Kostorz, who should also have scored. Goalkeeper Tristan Kuijsten, however, kept his goal clean.

The Alkmaar youngsters still had a perfect opportunity to leave Den Bosch with the win. Kees Smit was knocked down in the penalty area, after which Ricuenio Kewal’s penalty was saved. Jong AZ will receive NAC Breda in Wijdewormer on February 26 (the next match).
