Young Ajax finds successor Johnny Heitinga for the rest of the season | Dutch football

Dave Vos starts working as a trainer of Jong Ajax. He succeeds John Heitinga, who has been transferred to the first team, with the team from Amsterdam. The 39-year-old Vos signs a contract until the end of the season.

Vos previously worked as a trainer at Ajax for ten years, where he supervised several youth teams and worked at Jong Ajax as assistant to Mitchell van der Gaag. In November 2021, Vos left for Rangers FC. At the Scottish club, he was assistant coach until the end of 2022 under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who had to leave the Scottish club.

Vos likes to help Ajax out of the fire

,,I am a real Ajax player and I owe a lot to the club”, says Vos. ,,That is why I like to give something back now that Ajax is calling on me again. I know the group of players well from my previous period at the club and I am very excited to help the players further in their final steps towards the highest level.”

Interim coach Michel Kreek, who was in front of the group after the transfer of Heitinga, will now continue as an assistant at Jong Ajax.
