Jong Ajax again failed to win in the first division. A visit to MVV Maastricht was lost 2-1. A goal from Gabriel Misehouy late in the game was not enough.
Young Ajax did not start sharply in Maastricht. The ball was already in the net behind Charlie Setford after three minutes, Koen Kostons was the maker: 1-0. A few minutes later it went wrong again and Kostons was again the one who made the verdict: 2-0. The Amsterdam promises were not involved in the first half.
Dave Vos was dissatisfied and intervened hard. Rida Chahid, Raphaël Sarfo and Kristian Hlynsson were left behind in the dressing room. Julian Brandes, Oualid Agougil and Alvaro Henry entered it. Via Jaydon Banel and David Kalokoh, chances were created for the connecting goal. It helped that Nicky Souren got a red card. Gabriel Misehouy scored that connection goal three minutes before the end, but Ajax didn’t get any further: 2-1.
