If you want to protect the money in your account, you should be careful when using your payment card. If the PIN is spied out, this can become a security risk.

The PIN is nobody’s business but your own. To ensure that it does not end up with anyone else, payment card users should note a few points.

The “kartenSicherheit.de” portal provides the following tips:

1. Cover the input field when entering the PIN with your free hand or your wallet.

2. At the card terminal, make sure that other people keep sufficient distance and avoid distractions.

3. Don’t write down the PIN anywhere, just remember it.

4. Never pass on the PIN – not even to family members or persons you trust.

5. Don’t let the secret number be tricked out. Credit institutes and reputable companies do not ask for it.
