You have to be careful when swimming in these places

This concerns blue-green algae at the Maasplassen in Maastricht and the Dilkensplas day beach in Ohé en Laak. Warning signs have been placed at the swimming areas. Swimming in water where blue-green algae has been found can be dangerous for both humans and animals. For example, it causes skin rashes, headaches, breathing problems and dizziness. Therefore, it is strongly not recommended to jump into the water. When the danger of blue-green algae has disappeared, the Water Board will remove the signs.
