‘You cannot ignore Wilders’

Wilfred Genee warns Dilan Yesilgöz and Pieter Omtzigt that not governing with Geert Wilders is not an option. “If he is ignored now, won’t you get so much dissatisfaction in the Netherlands?”

Geert Wilders wants to govern with VVD, NSC and BBB, but only Caroline van der Plas is keen on that. Dilan Yesilgöz only wants to tolerate and Pieter Omtzigt makes retreating movements. All sorts of political games are being played again, Caroline fumes. And they at Today Inside completely agree with that.

Ignore Wilders

One thing is certain: according to Wilfred Genee, there can be no government without Wilders. “If he is ignored now, then you will get so much dissatisfaction in the Netherlands, right? That’s not possible at all, is it? That’s just not possible, is it?”

It is ridiculous that Dilan has closed the door on co-governance so hard, says Johan Derksen. “It is styleless and characterless. Wilders is the largest party in the Netherlands for the first time in his life. If he does not become part of the cabinet now, he could cause the whole thing to explode, because then he will have done it all for nothing.”

Elections again?

It is being suggested here and there to hold elections again. Then the VVD in particular will be punished, because the voter now knows that they do not want to participate in government with their current number of seats. “PVV will benefit the most from that, don’t you think?”, says Wilfred.

Table guest Wouter de Winther: “PVV certainly too, at the expense of the VVD. I don’t think they took that into account enough. It is a game between VVD and NSC: who will do the most difficult thing to do something together with Wilders?”

Statement

Wilfred thinks that the PVV will become exorbitantly large when elections are held again. “You don’t think that the PVV would become much bigger in such a case if that happens?”

Wouter: “I think so, but is it 45, 50 or 60 seats?”

Wilfred: “Then you really have a statement. Doesn’t that make it so clear that something has to be done?”

Johan: “That is already the case. When you see how big the PVV is, it is clear that there are many people in the Netherlands who think exactly like Wilders.”

27 seats

In any case, it is a shame that Dilan Yesilgöz still wanted to be prime minister with 27 seats in the polls, but now feels he can no longer participate with 24 seats, according to Wouter.

Johan: “It is very unbelievable. It’s a trick, a devised plan. We’ll see what exactly they plan to do, but it’s not straight.”
