Pieter de Haas starts the specialty store Het Buitenhuys Outdoor there, with fashionable, chic and high-quality outdoor clothing for people who love the outdoors.
Outerwear for all weather conditions
At Het Buitenhuys you can find all conceivable outdoor clothing: from shoes to boots, rainwear and accessories. The only similarity with the previous store is that there are a few models of hiking boots. “A big difference is that in my collection I sell functional clothing that also looks fashionable and chic,” explains Pieter. “For example, I offer various Scandinavian brands because the northern countries have good clothing for all kinds of weather conditions.”
Special products
Het Buitenhuys is also the place to be for more specific outdoor products. Think of good rainwear, sturdy rubber boots and accessories for dog sports. “There is even a demand for anti-tick clothing and electrically heated clothing,” says Pieter. “We have a beautiful collection of clothing in English checks, tweed and wax for men and women. Our fashion items are very functional, but they also dress beautifully.”

Already open on Saturday
The outdoor shop Het Buitenhuys has not yet officially opened because Pieter is still busy with the decoration. Nevertheless, it opens its doors to the public every Saturday. “Last weekend, some curious passers-by came to look inside. Everyone is just very welcome, even if it is not ready yet.” It is not yet known when the store will officially open.
