You can get rid of these fines! The reason why the DGT is annulling certain violations

In 2022, Spain experienced an absolute record of traffic fines, the most sanctioned reason being speeding. Thanks to the extensive radar network in our country, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) was able to find and sanction so many uncivil attitudes behind the wheel. However, there are situations in which the agency must eliminate fines.

When does the DGT have to cancel your traffic fines?

One month ago, 37 radars were launched in Portugal. A very notable figure given that to date, The total number of radars in the country was 61.. That is, more than half of the existing cameras were installed. Now, they have emerged technical problems in the installation of some of these radarssomething that has also happened in Spain recently.

The National Road Safety Authority of Portugal (ASNR) discovered that a person had been fined truck driving at almost 200 km/h on a highway in the center of the country, showing that there was a technical problem. In this way, all the fines that this radar had issued to date were canceled.

Something that would also happen in Spain if a newly installed radar or one that has been in operation for some time presents a technical problem: It would be impossible to detect which fines are accurate and which are the result of an error.
