Angela de Jong receives a serious reprimand from Jonathan Ursem, the publisher of Peter Gillis’ book. He states that the tiger shark of the AD should be happy with the reality star of SBS 6.
For mysterious reasons, holiday park villain Peter Gillis is still one of the figureheads of SBS 6, the flagship of John de Mol’s media empire. One of the many people who does not understand this at all is Angela de Jong. “Peter Gillis dug his own grave on TV yesterday,” she wrote in the week AD.
Bellowing Peter
Angela calls Peter a ‘Brabant proleté’ who is kept in the saddle by John de Mol, who is said to have no moral compass. What does she mean by the title of her column? On the fragment in the last broadcast in which he rages at a guest from his own holiday park.
The TV columnist writes: “The man had dared to drive his car onto the grass of his pitch, instead of pushing his caravan into place by hand. Now you saw tracks. ‘Do you have a rake? All my seeded thing fucked up. I want you to rake it up,’ Peter bellowed.
“A rake? I was thinking more like a shovel. With which Peter was digging his own grave at that moment.”
‘You can be happy’
Jonathan Ursem of publisher Vesper Publishing, which publishes the book by Peter Gillis, among others, says that Angela can be happy with the controversial reality star. “What would Angela’s day look like if she couldn’t get annoyed with people like Peter Gillis (and Johan Derksen, Martien Meiland, etc)?” he wondered on Twitter.
He continues: “I would say: just be happy that there are outspoken types on TV that you can write sour pieces about…”
