It’s one of the first questions you hear when it gets a bit cold: can we skate yet? In many places in Brabant, puddles, fens and flooded meadows are freezing, but the ice is not yet thick enough. As a natural ice fanatic you should keep an eye on these places.
In Mierlo, a flooded meadow is already frozen enough to skate on, locals reported broadcaster Geldrop-Mierlo24. In the meantime, the ice masters from Skating Club De Vennen in Oisterwijk and Skating and Inline Skating Association SVS (Skeeler Vrienden Stevensbeek) in Stevensbeek in the municipality of Land van Cuijk are closely monitoring the situation.
It remains exciting: in the coming days the mercury will rise above zero and it will only freeze slightly.
