“You are good enough, so you are old enough”

Matias Siltanen is the newest member in Djurgården’s Finnish column. The Stockholm giant bought a young man from KuPS for EUR 1.2 million.

Djurgården won himself in the promotion plate of Manchester City, but of course he had one important attraction from Siltanen’s point of view.

Namely, the former KuPS pilot had just started at the helm of the “Iron Camps” Jani Honkavaara. In this way, the duo continues to cooperate in a slightly more demanding environment.

Siltanen turns 18 in March, so she still has plenty of time to develop to her own top level.

– Everything looks easy for him because he collects so much information. Terily many glances over your shoulder. That’s why he knows what he needs to do next.

– It looks easy. He does not have an extra struggle. Matias is determined, calm, analytical. Lots of good attributes.

Honkavaara knows that the skills have not come for free. There are thousands of training hours behind.

– Matias has always played with older players, so he has had to adapt. He adapted to speed and chaos here in Sweden a week.

– He fights for the place of start.

In the summer, the European Championship Tournament is waiting. Could the bridge become one joker Mika Lehkosuo to the group?

– I can’t say. There are a lot of good players there. The media easily lifts players somewhere without thinking about who is ahead.

Honkavaara is dating Leo Wallan and Luka Hyryläinen names.

– It’s hard to say if he would bypass any of them. If he develops from this, what not. And surely he will be selected for the race if he plays with us and gets responsibility.

– It’s not a big thing. It may be that the European Championships will come before he has taken place under the place of two. He still has time to play there.
