There are TV series that know how to shed their skin, adapting the evolution of the characters to the story and allowing the plot and story arc to continually reinvent itself without petering out. Youthe US Netflix series, is one of themlaunched in 2018 as a psychological thriller focused on the figure of the bookseller Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) and his obsession with the lives of others and especially young Guinevere (Elizabeth Lail).

After several transformations, which led Joe to commit heinous murders along the way of his attempt to build difficult relationships, the fourth season arrives at a further change of register and setting. Joe, who in the meantime started a family and became a father, moved to London where he found a job as a literature professor; the young man of the first seasons has given way to a mature man who always uses the web and social networks to scan and interpret the lives of those who happen to cross his path.

After a thriller crescendo with a splatter vein, the fourth season turns yellow, using the British setting as a key and homage to the classic whodunit mechanism? (a story centered around a crime and an attempt to find out who committed it), a pillar of English genre literature.

For those who love narratively powerful and inexhaustible stories and abandon themselves to the most intimate thoughts of the characters.
