Earlier this year, Arffman received a grant of 7,000 euros from the Foundation for the Promotion of Journalistic Culture (Jokes) to “write the biography of a cross-country skier”.
– We’ve done that to some extent.
If Pärmäkoski’s career had ended in the spring of 2023, a potential alternative for publishing the biography was during the 2023–24 ski season.
– Time will tell when it will be published, Pärmäkoski states.
The skier has decided to continue his career classically one season at a time.

Arffman wrote Mona-Liisa from Nousiainen biography Mona-Liisa – athlete, musician, person (Gummerus).
Jokes awarded a grant of 4,250 euros for the work in 2019. The book was published in 2020.
Nousiainen passed away exhausted by a long-term illness at the age of 36 in July 2019.
