No announcements were seen in connection with Yle TV1’s Sunday evening programs.
There were no announcements on Yle TV1’s broadcasts on Sunday evening. Among other things, before the one that started at 18:45 Arto Nyberg no ad was seen.
The announcement was also not seen after the evening’s main news broadcast and the Sports Screen, when the announcement is normally made for the Sunday evening program starting at 9 p.m.
Yle TV1’s longtime announcer Maria Jungner died suddenly at the weekend at the age of 50. Yle reported on the matter on Sunday a little before one o’clock in the afternoon.
Jungner had worked as the channel’s announcer since 1998. He had also hosted radio programs for Yle.
Yle’s communications manager Anne-Mari Aaltonen told Iltalehte earlier on Sunday that the working community, shocked by Jungner’s death, needs time to process the matter.
From 2007 to 2012, Jungner was married to the former CEO of Yleisradio by Mikael Jungner with. Maria Jungner had two daughters from her first marriage between 1999 and 2006.
