Yet no foul play in the death of Sissi (39) in Waarschoot | Domestic

39-year-old Sissi was found on Sunday afternoon by a neighbor in his garden in the East Flemish town of Waarschoot (Lievegem), 270 meters from her own home. The woman had been missing for about two weeks at that time.

The public prosecutor’s office initially had elements that pointed to a violent death of the woman. Although they also kept other avenues open. After an initial external examination on Tuesday and a second more thorough autopsy on Thursday, the medical examiner now declares that the mother of two died of a drug overdose. Furthermore, there are no indications of intervention by a third party. Both investigations showed that no signs of violence were found. It remains unclear exactly how long the woman had been there.
