Yesim Candan thinks that the men of Today Inside have no balls, because as a woman with a different opinion she is no longer invited. “I also have an unvarnished opinion!”
She has been a guest at the bar of Today Inside twice: columnist Yesim Candan, Ferry Doedens’ bosom friend who flew out of De Slimste Mens after just one performance. Once she was there to talk about d * ckpics, later she was a guest in the infamous candle broadcast. There she got into trouble with Johan Derksen.
Unsalted opinion
After that broadcast, Yesim was never welcome again at VI’s bar. And she has a bit of what Stella Bergsma also has: she just can’t let go of that. She already expressed her annoyance about it in December and now Yesim is complaining again about the fact that she is never allowed to join the queue again.
Yesim tells in HLF8: “What I actually think is… They are of the unvarnished opinion. Me, too. What I do think is a pity is that it is not the case that only they are allowed to have an unvarnished opinion. I also have an unvarnished opinion. It would also be cool if they said, ‘Okay, yes, we disagree with her, but it’s great that she’s there.’”
Balls
It would do Yesim good if she was asked again. “Sure, of course. I dare.”
Does she think she has a chance? “No! Look, if they had real balls, they would have said, ‘Okay, let’s invite her again, because we like women with an open mind.’”
It would adorn the men, says Yesim. “I also think it’s a great program. I like it. I really think so.”
‘Dear table master!’
Filemon Wesselink thinks Yesim shouldn’t take it so personally. He himself could be seen as a table master in DWDD for years, until he was suddenly out. “That is very common with talk shows. For a while I was table master at De Wereld Draait Door and then one day Matthijs said: ‘You are the best table master too.’ After that, he never spoke again.”
He continues: “I don’t mind that at all. You just know with such a program: they have to shine and if there is someone who facilitates that, then they are fine with it. And if you get in the way, you’ll be gone in no time.”
