It is still unclear what the corona policy will look like around carnival, so it is feared that the rules will differ per municipality or per region. Yesilgöz therefore wants to talk to the mayors about the “scenarios, how can we deal with them, how can we help each other.”
Several mayors have indicated that they eventually want to work together, in order to avoid a patchwork of different rules per region. Also because the pubs will be allowed to open again under certain conditions, it will be difficult to monitor the 1.5 meters away if carnival is being celebrated exuberantly.
