YES VE GAN!BUFFALO launches the campaign for a more sustainable future

The new BUFFALO campaign gives a clear answer to the most pressing questions of our time. Less CO2 emissions? Less water consumption? Simply less impact on global warming? And that in iconic styles, chunky designs and bold colors?

YES VE GAN!

The vegan styles from BUFFALO are bold, daring and confident – just like their wearers. The “YES VE GAN” campaign also emphasizes this. The images and videos with the look and feel of a social media dance challenge with a bright buffalo yellow background radiate a good mood and cast a positive look into the future. The focus is on eight styles that are among the customers’ favourites. And they are just as comfortable as if you were walking on clouds like the CLD. Or they revive iconic nineties looks like the ASPHA loafer. And they are all vegan.

Each of the protagonists celebrates this in their own individual way. For this, BUFFALO worked with various dancers, from ballet to street style to hip-hop. Everyone with their own way of moving and a personal fashion style – connected via the colors and the choreography. The campaign will also be extended with a dance challenge to the song “OMW” by Jane & The Boy. In this way, BUFFALO encourages people to celebrate veganism in the most beautiful styles of the season together with the brand.

Because the spring/summer collection 2022 by BUFFALO is already 95 percent peta-approved certified vegan. Many styles are already made entirely without animal materials and components. For the few selected styles with leather components, BUFFALO obtains the material from certified suppliers who work according to the ecological and social guidelines of the internationally recognized Leather Working Group.

Why an alternative to leather at all? Current studies show that synthetic leather has a significantly smaller ecological footprint than animal leather – because the methane that cows emit accelerates global warming, pastures destroy biodiversity, from rearing to leather tanning, water is consumed in large quantities and chemical waste is produced . In numbers: Compared to cowhide, vegan products cause 78 percent fewer chemical emissions, use 95 percent less water, require 18 percent fewer fossil resources and have a 77 percent less negative impact on global warming.

All too often, the attribute “vegan” is still associated with doing without and compromises. Vegan styles are usually reserved and clean. Not at BUFFALO! The brand’s long-term sustainability strategy includes replacing real leather with synthetic materials such as polyurethane, which not only feel as soft as leather, but also make no compromises. Neither in quality nor in design.
