After reports earlier this year, it seemed that the deer park in the Rokkeveen district had to close. Many residents were shocked by this; it is a popular outing.
The deer stay
On Tuesday, December 12, the cabinet announced that the animals will be allowed to stay. In Zoetermeer you will find the small deer park on the Lakpad. This is located in the Kleurenbuurt in Rokkeveen, behind the De Vlieger shopping center. But you may also know the larger deer park at the Malieveld in The Hague. You can see it on the other side of The Hague CS.
Breeding ban is cancelled
The cabinet initially planned that no more animals could be added from July 1, 2024 and that there would be a breeding ban. The deer in the deer parks would become extinct. The government is therefore abandoning this.
