On his sixtieth birthday, coach Mike Snoei had hoped for more than a 0-0 draw against Jong FC Utrecht. “There were few clear-cut chances. I can live with a draw.”
Snoei was again missing a large number of players, including Tom Overtoom, Danzell Gravenberch and Thomas Oude Kotte. Nevertheless, the Velsen residents had control over the match. However, it was hardly possible to create opportunities ourselves. Snoei: “The circumstances didn’t exactly help. I just shook hands with the trainer (Ivar van Dinteren, ed.) and he said that we were a little better.”
Clean sheet
Ronald Koeman Jr. made his return after almost three months of absence. The goalie did not have to make a single save and thought his team deserved more than one point. “It wasn’t much difference, but I think we were the more dominant team.”

“I congratulated the trainer at dinner before the match,” said the attentive Koeman Jr. about the birthday boy Snoei. “Unfortunately no gift of three points for him, that would have been nice.”
“Fitter”
The birthday boy really wants to move up in that ranking with Telstar. Due to the draw, the Velsen team remains number eighteen in the first division. “We also have to get fitter, we are really missing four to five very good players.”

“Stupid”
Finally, Snoei looks back on Jorginho Soares’ red card. The central defender picked up a yellow card twice around the halfway line. “Very stupid.”
Telstar will play away again on Friday. The White Lions will then visit FC Groningen. You can follow the match live on NH Sport on the radio. The kick-off is at 8 p.m.
