Yann Sommer deposits a change request in Gladbach

Borussia Mönchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer may be preparing for a transfer to Bayern Munich in the near future.

According to a report in the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, the Swiss in Gladbach has deposited his change request internally.

The club management of Borussia is therefore ready to let the 34-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer, go in the winter – if a transfer fee corresponding to the ideas flows. Gladbach’s demand is said to be five million euros.

The bottom of the table in the Bundesliga is also said to have a successor for summer in mind: According to “Sky”, Australia’s national goalkeeper Matthew Ryan from FC Copenhagen is an issue in Gladbach.

Thanks to an exit clause, the 30-year-old goalkeeper would be available for a cheap 500,000 euros.

Deadline at FC Bayern

At FC Bayern, the clock is ticking while looking for a replacement for the injured goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. “Bild” recently reported that the German record champions had set themselves a deadline of January 6th.

Then the Munich Torr starts a six-day training camp in Doha – ideally with the new goalkeeper.

A summer transfer should now be much more likely than a return from Alexander Nübel. The 26-year-old is on loan to AS Monaco until the end of the season. “It makes little sense for me to come back,” Nübel recently emphasized to “Bild”. He “didn’t want to do without” regular match practice in the Fürstenrum.

Gladbach, Bayern Munich, Manchester United?

Summer’s commitment to FC Bayern could be short.

Speculations have recently been raised that the man from Noch-Gladbach will only sign at Säbener Straße for six months, i.e. until Neuer recovers, and then fulfill his dream of the Premier League with Manchester United.

The Red Devils are looking for a successor for David de Gea. The Spaniard’s contract expires, as does Sommer’s in Gladbach.

In addition to summer, FC Bayern should also deal with Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt. In addition, Morocco’s World Cup keeper Bono from FC Sevilla has been linked to Munich.
