Y-3 and Real Madrid celebrate anniversaries with collaboration

Y-3, the joint brand of Adidas and designer Yohji Yamamoto, and Spanish football club Real Madrid are both celebrating anniversaries this year.

Real Madrid can look back on 120 years of club history and Y-3 is already celebrating a 20-year partnership, the Herzogenaurach-based sports goods manufacturer announced on Thursday. Therefore, the sports club, where Adidas is active as an outfitter, and avant-garde sportswear brand have teamed up to release a capsule.

The collection includes a selection of apparel and accessories geared towards both the pitch and play. This includes a black jersey – the team’s fourth jersey – with white accents, as well as a pink goalkeeper jersey with white accents for the Real Madrid men’s team. Both pieces feature Y-3 branding along with stripes, numbers and names designed in a ‘hand painted’ style. There is also a warm-up top, as well as jackets and pants for the field. The selection next to the lawn consists of a t-shirt, a scarf and a wash bag.

It’s not the first collaboration between Y-3 and Real Madrid. For the 2014/15 season, there was already a cooperation for the football club’s replacement jersey Available at Real Madrid branches.
