Xavi Simons also moved from Paris Saint-Germain to DFB Cup winners RB Leipzig on loan in the summer because of coach Marco Rose.
Before the top game in the Bundesliga against FC Bayern Munich, the Dutchman told the TV channel “Sky” that Rose had explained the project to him, what he planned to do with the team, and how he saw him on the field.
“That gave me goosebumps. I was excited and wanted to come here and play under him. The way he wants to play football is really good for me and my development,” said Simons.
The 20-year-old is expecting an intense game against Bayern. RB did win the Supercup in Munich in August.
“But I’m sure they’ll come here and show us that they want to win. But I think the chance is 50-50. We’re playing at home and have the support of the fans,” said Simons.
